Saturday, October 15

Today was kind of a weird day, but I liked it. I got up fairly early, which is strange for me on the weekend, but I got to sleep in on Wednesday, and I just had a craving for some early morning quiet. It was wonderful…I spent a whole two hours just reading and getting ready for the day by myself, and I loved starting my day off like that.
After the epic failure in regards to seeing the cathedral yesterday, I looked up information about it last night and met Danielle this morning to go see it when it opened at 11. There was a huge line of tourists waiting to get in, but the cathedral was so massive that it was far from being crowded. It was so big that we legitimately got lost in there a couple of times, and it took us a couple of hours to see everything. After venturing through the cathedral itself, we climbed the seemingly endless ramp up the Giralda, which is a watchtower that was built by the Moors and is attached to the cathedral. From there we could see the whole city, which was really cool. I was amazed to see how big Sevilla actually is…I had been thinking it was kind of a little city, but it stretches way farther than I thought.
After the cathedral and Giralda, we went out for ice cream and then made our way home for lunch. I didn’t exactly feel great, and when I got home I discovered that Rosa was feeling under the weather too. Because she was feeling sick, Corinne and I ate lunch alone, and then I got started on my homework. Later in the afternoon I met some classmates to review our grammar material. I really enjoyed working and talking with them, but by the time I got home I was feeling much worse. I ended up skipping dinner and getting ready for bed before studying a little bit more and calling it an early night…hopefully I’ll be able to sleep off whatever bug I’ve got and tomorrow will be a productive and happy day.
