It’s Friday, Friday! I loved this afternoon. I think Friday afternoons are going to be something I look back on as a highlight of my semester here. Again, I spent the afternoon in the park after school, and it was wonderful. I just took a book, my Bible, and my computer and spent the whole afternoon reading, talking to God, and Skyping with my mom. It was exactly what I needed.
My tests this morning both went pretty well, and I’m relieved to have this week behind me. It was a lot of work and it feels good to have it all done. I really liked the format of my history test…we had 50 minutes to write as much as we could about 3 out of 5 prompts. I really liked that I could prove I knew what I knew and leave the other topics untouched. The grammar test was more of a Q&A test, which was more nerve-wracking for me, but I think I did all right. After class I had coffee with my friend Jenna before heading home for lunch, and right after lunch I went to the park until dinner.
After dinner Corinne and I watched an episode of a TV series I brought with me. We’re not so sure we like it yet, but we’re thinking we’ll give it a few more weeks before we shut the door on it. I was happy to just have some mindless entertainment for a little bit after thinking, writing, and speaking in Spanish all week. I wrote out some post cards and painted my nails while we watched the movie….it was a regular girls’ night, and just what I needed after a long week.
Added Sunday: After writing 10 post cards, I discovered that the total cost to send them all to the US would be $12!!! I couldn’t believe it! But by the time I found that out the guy at the post office had already stamped them all, so I had to pay it. What a drag. Oh well…just don’t be expecting any wonderful notes from me in the mail this semester.
